A career as a Phlebotomy Technician is a rewarding path for someone who desires to work directly with patients. Phlebotomy Technicians use care and skill to obtain blood specimens from patients for analysis in the clinical laboratory. 就业 opportunities include, but are not limited to, 医院, 诊所, 医生的办公室, reference laboratories, 捐赠中心. 

The semester-long phlebotomy courses (MLTP 101 Phlebotomy and MLTP 102 Applied Phlebotomy) are offered twice a year, once in the Fall and then again in the Spring. Although a certificate of completion is not conferred by CMU, students who complete both courses are eligible for national certification by examination for a Phlebotomy Technician (PBT) through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP). 

Non-MLT majors and non-degree-seeking students may be accepted if seating and clinical sites are available. 注意: The application deadline for the Fall 2024 semester has been extended. Students will need to attend one of the following group information sessions 之前 placing an application. Applications will not be accepted from students who have not attended one of the sessions listed below. Submitted applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the course is filled. 

  • April 22, 2024, 12:00 -12:30 am
  • May 14, 2024, 2:00-2:30 pm

Both meetings will be held in room HS160, in the Department of Health Sciences building located on the corner of 12th St. and Walnut Ave, Grand Junction.
